Rhode Island Makers Training Program (Welding)
Your Path to a Welding Career Starts Here
The Rhode Island Makers Training Program is a free 5-week, in-person welding training program designed to help participants build foundational welding skills, complete work readiness training, and prepare for opportunities in manufacturing and commercial welding. No experience is required.
- Dates: September 8 – October 9, 2026
- Schedule: M-TH; 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (welding) M-TH; 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (work readiness) (190 hours)

- Cost: Free

What to Expect:
Welding is hands-on, physical work. Participants should be prepared to train in real welding conditions, including warm or hot environments and required protective gear such as a welding hood, gloves, and leather welding jacket.
This program is designed for individuals who are serious about learning the trade and preparing for opportunities in commercial welding and manufacturing. Participants should be ready to follow safety procedures, work with tools and equipment, and build the skills needed for real-world welding environments.
This training is a strong fit for people who are ready for in-person, hands-on work and want to better understand the day-to-day expectations of a welding career.
